Tractor fire spread to field in Portesham

A TRACTOR fire spread to a field in Portesham.

Three fire crews – two from Weymouth, one from Bridport – were called to the scene, in Bramdon Lane, at just after 10am this morning (September 7).

“The tractor was well alight and the fire had spread to a field of stubble,” a Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“Initially, there was a large plume of smoke but once the fire had been extinguished, using a total of four reel jets and a single breathing apparatus wearer, this subsided.”

Two crews stayed at the scene to damp down the area, they added.
