Teens aged 13 and 14 charged over disturbance at Dorset brewery

THREE teenage girls – aged 13 and 14 – have been charged after reports of disorder at a Lyme Regis brewery.

The incident, at the Lyme Regis Brewery in Mill Lane, was reported at just after 10pm on Saturday, September 14, with three girls said to be behaving aggressively towards staff.

“It is reported the girls verbally abused staff before throwing rocks at them and the premises,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“Fortunately, the victims did not sustain any injuries.

“Officers attended the scene and following enquiries, three teenage girls were arrested and subsequently charged in connection with the incident.”

:: A 13-year-old girl from Uplyme in Devon has been charged with criminal damage, common assault and a public order offence.
:: A 13-year-old girl from Lyme Regis has been charged with two counts of common assault and a public order offence.
:: And a 14-year-old girl from Axminster in Devon has also been charged with a public order offence.

All three are due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 16.

PC Joseph Garrard, of the Dorset Police Volume Crime Team, said: “We would like to reassure residents, visitors and business owners in West Dorset that we take all reports of anti-social behaviour in our communities very seriously and we will continue to do all we can to investigate incidents of this nature and take appropriate action.”
