If you are a carer in North Dorset, there is support to tap into by getting in touch with the Carers Lead at your GP surgery.

The Blackmore Vale Partnership is keen to support those caring for someone else and to encourage them to look after themselves, too.

Every GP practice has a named Carers Lead, who you can ask to speak at any time, who will explain what support is available to you and – with your permission – add you to the GP practice Carers Register so staff will be aware of your caring role and will take this into consideration when booking appointments, giving advice or providing treatment for you and the person you are caring for.
