A MAN threatened a worker and demanded cash from the safe at a Blandford convenience store.
The robbery took place at Central Store, in Heddington Drive, at around 8.40pm on Saturday night (April 27).
Police said the man, who was in possession of a metal bar, then left the store in the direction of Jubilee Way.
“Officers attended the scene and conducted searches in the area but the offender has not yet been located and detectives are continuing to explore a number of lines of enquiry to identify the man involved,” a spokesperson said.
“There were no reports of any injuries.”
Detective Inspector Andy Marsh, of Dorset County CID, said: “This must have been a very distressing incident for the staff member involved and I want to reassure members of the public that we are carrying out a detailed investigation into this incident.
“I am releasing CCTV images of the suspect and while I know that his face is not clearly visible, I hope that it may jog someone’s memory or somebody may recognise him from the clothing he is wearing.
“I would urge anyone with information about the man’s identity to please contact Dorset Police.
“We are also keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to us, as well as anyone who may have captured relevant home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.”
