CONCERNS are growing in Shaftesbury over repeated graffiti vandalism at Barton Hill skate park and the nearby multi-use games area (MUGA) after a series of incidents over recent weeks.
The graffiti has appeared across equipment and public facilities, prompting complaints from residents and regular users of the popular community space.
Officials say efforts have been made to clean the affected areas but some of the markings are proving difficult to remove.
In a statement, the council said: “We are aware of several incidents of graffiti at the skate park and around the MUGA at Barton Hill over the last few weeks.
“We understand this is frustrating for residents and users of these facilities. Our Caretaker has been cleaning the equipment where possible, but some of the graffiti is becoming increasingly difficult to remove.”
The incidents have been reported to police, with authorities urging anyone who may have witnessed anti-social behaviour or damage in the area to come forward.
The statement added: “Community reports can help identify those responsible and support action being taken.”
Residents have also been thanked for continuing to report concerns as efforts continue to keep the facilities “safe and welcoming for everyone.”
