Somerset village music festival raises £9,000 for life-saving charities

A VILLAGE music festival raised £9,000 for charity.

The 2023 edition of Wickfest, which takes place in Milborne Wick, has handed over the funds to two charities that undertake life-saving work.

The one-day festival is held on the farm of Chris and Sarah Spake, who say it is their way of giving back after Chris needed the services of the air ambulance following a serious accident on the farm in 2022.

The proceeds were divided between Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the Eve Appeal, that is working to raise aware and fund research to end gynaecological cancers.

Members of the Wickfest organising committee recently presented a cheque for £4,500 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance representatives.
