SCHOOLS in the Vale and beyond are closing due to the bad weather as snow falls in Somerset and Dorset.

A number of schools are shutting as the bad weather and freezing temperatures continue.

Forecasters are predicting possible snow showers throughout the day and into the evening, with temperatures dropping to around -1C.

Roads could become slippery and dangerous, prompting the closure of some schools.
