Smoke coming from mobile phone mast in Henstridge prompts fire call

SMOKE coming from a mobile phone mast in Henstridge prompted a call to firefighters.

The incident was reported at 8.26am this morning (June 18) at a mobile phone mast in Sherborne Road.

Fire crews from Sherborne and Yeovil were sent to the scene.

“Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and fumes coming from an exhaust at the base of the mast and performed thorough inspections while the relevant companies were contacted,” a Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“There were no signs of fire or risk of escalation so crews made the scene safe until the arrival the engineers.”
