Sherborne youngsters flying high after nursery and butterfly farm visit

DOZENS of children were treated to a “magical experience” with a trip to a butterfly farm.

Around 60 young people from Abbey Primary School visited Clive Farrell’s butterfly farm and at Ryewater Nursery in a trip organised by Sherborne Castles Rotary Club and the Let’s Help Our Primary Schoolchildren charity.

Jo Maidment, of Sherborne Rotary, said: “It was lovely see the children’s enchantment with the whole ethos of Ryewater Nursery. Sitting in the ‘electric chair’ surrounded by children’s exited chatter was the highlight of the day.”

Lisa Thompson, head of Abbey Primary, said: “What a fabulous, magical experience that our children will remember for a life time.

“Our guide’s obvious passion and enthusiasm for nature absolutely made the day.”

Mr Farrell, founder of the attraction, added: “The teachers and helpers were magnificent and the children were exceptional. Indeed, it was a joy to have them here.

“Rotary has facilitated a wonderful and educational day for the children.”
