‘She lived for her children’: Family remember woman after tragic crash

THE family of a “free spirited” woman who sadly died in a car crash near Dorchester last week have released an emotional tribute.

Catherine Gray from Weymouth, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene when a black Kia Niro and a grey Peugeot 107 crashed on the A37 near Maiden Newton just after 5.30pm on October 22.

Her family said: “Catherine – also known as Cath – was a fun loving free spirited soul who would have helped anyone with anything.

She lived for her children who she adored wholeheartedly. She will be sorely missed by all of us family and friends. We will never forget you.”

Dorset Police are still appealing for any witnesses to the crash to get in touch to help their investigation.

Police sergeant Mike Burt, of the serious collision investigation team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who sadly died in this collision.

“An investigation is underway into this incident and I am appealing for anyone who saw what happened and has not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“Also, I am keen to speak to any motorists who captured dashcam footage of the manner of driving of the vehicles involved or of the moments leading up to the collision to please contact us.

“You may have vital information to assist our enquiries. Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”

Anyone who can help is asked to contact the force by emailing scit@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, using reference number 55250156851.
