WORK to rectify a sink hole in Shaftesbury is set to take place next week.
According to Shaftesbury Town Council the sink hole at the bottom of Angel Lane appeared on the day of the Shaftesbury Carnival (September 28).
Dorset Council said the sink hole was caused by a damaged surface water sewer.
The area is scheduled for repair next Monday (October 14) and will take two days.
A Dorset Council spokesperson said: “Our engineer visited the site last week following reports of the sink hole.
“Sink holes like this are typically caused by leaks from water mains or a leaking highway gully.
“Our engineer ascertained it was caused by a damaged surface water sewer and this has been scheduled for repair on Monday, October 14.
“Our crew will be on site for a couple of days to carry out the repair.”
