Shaftesbury quiz night will raise money for mental health charity

QUIZ fans can put their brains to the test and raise money for charity at an event later this month.

The Mayor of Shaftesbury, Alexander Chase, is set to host a Charity Quiz Night in aid of The Brave & Determined, a charity dedicated to providing free, life-saving mental health counselling to those in need.

The Mayor’s Charity Quiz Night will take place on Friday, November 29, at Shaftesbury Town Hall, with doors opening at 7pm.

As well as brainteaser questions, the night will feature delicious food – with participants choosing between classic fish and chips or veggie burger and chips supplied by Mr Chips.

“Our community is known for its compassion, and we’re excited to offer a night where people can come together, enjoy a fantastic quiz, and support a truly vital cause,” said the Mayor.

“The Brave & Determined charity is doing incredible work to make mental health support accessible, and every ticket purchased helps us support their mission.”

Quizzers will also have the chance to win prizes donated by Virginia Hayward and Shaftesbury Wines, as well as enjoying a bar provided by The Brave and Determined Company (BadCo), with proceeds from drink sales directly supporting the charity.

Doors open at 7pm on November 29, with the quiz starting at 7.30pm. Food is set to be served at 8.15pm before the quiz resumes at 8.45pm.

Tickets, costing between £11.50 and £13.50, include food and quiz entry. Book via https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/charity-quiz-night-tickets-1044851036577 before November 26.
