Safe recovered in probe into Swanage and Dorchester burglaries

POLICE are keen to trace the owner of this safe – recovered during a probe into commercial burglaries in Swanage, Weymouth and Dorchester.

On Wednesday (February 28), officers arrested a 47-year-old man from Wiltshire in connection with four reports of non-dwelling burglaries committed between December 14 last year and January 3, 2024.

PC Bryce Scott-Jones, of the Weymouth and Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “As part of our enquiries into these reported burglaries, we have made an arrest and also recovered a damaged safe that we believe may have been stolen.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who recognises this safe or who has any information about where it may have come from.”
