Restricted access to entrances at Dorchester hospital this weekend

ACCESS to entrances at Dorset County Hospital will be disrupted by engineering works this weekend.

On Saturday (March 23), work will be taking place at the Dorchester site, meaning restrictions will be in place outside the North Wing, Entrance 1 and South Wing, Entrance 1.

“Pedestrians will still be able to access North Wing, Entrance 1 and South Wing, Entrance 1, but there will be no vehicle access to South Wing, Entrance 1,” a spokesperson said.

“Ambulances and patient transport services will be able to drop off outside North Wing, Entrance 1.

“No other vehicles will be able to enter the area, but the drop-off area by the Portesham Unit (in front of North Wing, Entrance 2) will remain open as usual.

“The area outside both entrances will be closed off to public and staff vehicles from 6pm on Friday (March 22) in preparation.

“Marshals will be on site on the day to assist. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
