The Wincanton Royal British Legion is holding a Remembrance talk on Friday 10 June 2022, to mark the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands War (2 April to 14 June 1982).
Major (Retd.) Simon Carew Price formerly of the Scots Guards will be presenting a talk at Wincanton Memorial Hall, from 7-9 pm, with slides on the Falklands War. Simon was Company Commander of the Right Flank, 2nd Battalion Scots Guards at the Battle for Tumbledown Mountain and will look at how the war came about, details of the war from a Scots Guards perspective, and his experiences during the Falklands War.
Entry on the door will be £5, with tea and coffee available, and all proceeds will be divided between Wincanton RBL and the Scots Guards Charities. For further information please contact Steve Lee on 07551 191070 or steve-clare1@tiscali.co.uk.
Wincanton Royal British Legion will also be holding a short Service of Remembrance at 11am on Tuesday 14 June. Those wishing to attend are asked to arrive promptly at Wincanton War Memorial, located in the grounds of Wincanton Memorial Hall.
