Labours in Lockdown is a boutique quilt show, presenting the work of Walking Feet, a group of four friends who have been working together for ten years.

The exhibition of work they produced over the pandemic is going on show at the Foyer Gallery at Shaftesbury Arts Centre from September 1-7.

Member Kate Pickard said: “We could only meet on Zoom but began to take it in turns to set challenges for the group to produce small pieces, choosing a subject as a starting point, and sometimes stipulating size as well.”

“In all we have each set four challenges and the pieces on show are the results. I think it is fair to say that we all like some of our pieces more than others, and that we found some challenges more challenging than others, but at least that gave us something to worry about other than covid!”
