Police tracing elderly driver after crash which injured biker

THE elderly driver of a car involved in a crash with a motorcycle in Bridport took details from the rider before leaving the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch following the incident on the A35 between Walditch Road and Firch Lane.

The crash, at around 1.30pm on Friday, April 11, involved a red Nissan Juke and a motorbike.

“It is reported that the driver of the Nissan, described as an elderly man, stopped and asked for details from the motorcycle rider, but did not give any of his own details and left the scene,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

The motorcycle rider – in his 20s from Bournemouth – sustained minor injuries.

PC Paul Miners, of Bridport Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I am appealing to any witnesses who were in the area and saw the collision to please come forward.

“Also, if you have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, please get in touch.

“I am really keen to hear from the driver of the Nissan so we can take your account of what happened.”
