Police probe after gravestones damaged in North Dorset churchyard

GRAVESTONES were “tipped over and broken in half” during an act of vandalism at a Vale church.

Police are investigating after reports several gravestones were damaged at St Gregory’s Church, in Marnhull, some time between Friday, August 29 and Monday, August 31.

PC Jack White, of Dorset Police, said: “This criminal damage has understandably caused a lot of upset and we are carrying out enquiries to establish who was responsible.

“I am keen to hear from anyone with information about what happened or who saw any suspicious activity in the area during the relevant time period.”
