CASH, jewellery and wallets were among items stolen in four burglaries at properties in North Dorset in 24 hours.

Police are appealing for information after the thefts, from properties in Higher Clatcombe, Fontmell Magna and Twyford on Monday, July 3.

The first reported incident occurred some time between noon and 3.50pm in Higher Clatcombe, with jewellery and a wallet stolen.

Another burglary, also in Higher Clatcombe, was reported at around 11.20pm on the same day, with watches and jewellery taken.

Police were then informed of a further break-in, between 11.45am and 3pm on the same day, in Fontmell Magna. A quantity of cash was stolen, as well as items of jewellery.

And a fourth burglary was reported to Dorset Police at around 12.30pm on July 3, at a property in Twyford. It is not believed anything was stolen.

The offenders were reported to be wearing light-coloured clothing and dark-coloured baseball caps.

Police Sergeant Natalie Skinner, of Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into these incidents, which we believe may be linked.

“I would ask anyone who saw or heard suspicious activity in the rural areas mentioned during the daytime on Monday, July 3, to please get in touch.

“Also, I am keen to speak to any residents who may have captured anything of relevance on home CCTV or doorbell camera footage.”
