Police appeal after car crashes into village pub porch

A CAR crashed into the porch of a village pub early this morning (November 25) – and police want to trace someone who was driving nearby.

The incident happened in Melbury Osmond, on the A37 Yeovil Road, at around 6am, police said.

After the crash, the driver of a blue Peugeot 207 – a man in his 40s from Yeovil – went to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

PC James Janssen, of Dorset Police, said: “We are investigating this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would also urge anyone with a dashcam who was driving in the vicinity during the morning of Monday, November 25, to please check any footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to appeal directly to the motorist of a vehicle that was driving nearby at the time of this collision to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
