Platinum day

The Friends of Sherborne’s Yeatman Hospital celebrated its 70th anniversary on Monday, July 26 after being closed for a year due to the pandemic.

West Dorset MP Chris Loder, who successfully campaigned for the Yeatman’s Minor Injuries Unit to be re-opened, joined the celebrations.

“I’m very pleased that we can celebrate this occasion with the significance it deserves,” he said. “The Yeatman has earned a special place in the lives and affections of the people in and around Sherborne and of course to many of us who were born there. The campaign to reopen the Minor Injuries Unit here has, I believe, reignited people’s appreciation for the service, the facility and the hugely important function that it serves.”
