PLANS to return two office buildings in Dorchester to houses have been submitted.

The proposals, for 13 and 14 Princes Street, would see the Grade II-listed building returned to its former state as two, three-bedroom houses.

A planning application has been submitted to Dorset Council by agent, Symonds & Sampson, to change the use of the property from commercial to residential.

“(The building) was formally two dwellings before being converted into a single office building and has several modern extensions to the rear of the building with a small rear courtyard,” the application said.

No parking would be provided for the homes, as it is deemed “not possible”, while the plan says there are opportunities for cycle storage.

“The application includes some internal works to facilitate the change, as well as an element of demolition to the rear modern extensions,” the application detailed.

“The majority of the changes seek to reinstate historic features or partitions.”
