Permanent head teacher confirmed at village school

A PERMANENT new head teacher has been appointed at Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop School.

Following a recruitment process, Polly Hale has been appointed to the role, having been acting head since June last year.

The top job comes after Mrs Hale spent the last seven years teaching at Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop School, including being part of the team that landed a good rating at the last Ofsted inspection.

Meanwhile, the school has recently under gone a SIAMS (statutory inspection of Anglican & Methodist schools) inspection, which noted it is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish.
