Norton dominates at Charterhouse sale

A 1954 Norton Dominator Model 7, which spent much of its life in Uganda, is entered into the Charterhouse specialist classic and vintage motorcycle auction on March 9.

“It never ceases to amaze me where clients acquire their motorcycles from” said George Beale. “Over the decades I have sold motorcycles from all over the world but never one which originated from Uganda!”

The owner of the motorcycle came across the bike whilst working abroad and repatriated the Norton Dominator from Uganda in 1998.

Complete with tailor made indoor monogrammed cover, manual, parts book, photos and history file of registration, dating documents and invoices going back to its purchase in Uganda in 1998, this beautifully restored 1954 Norton Dominator Model 7 is estimated at £8,500-9,500 in the Charterhouse auction on March 9 at the Haynes International Motor Museum, Somerset.

Charterhouse are now accepting further entries for this auction of classic and vintage motorcycles on March 9 and their auction of classic car on March 3. Specialists Richard Bromell, George Beale and the team at Charterhouse can be contacted for advice and valuations at The Long Street Salerooms, Sherborne 01935 812277 info@charterhouse-auction.com or via www.charterhouse-auction.com
