THE new Shaftesbury Mayor, Councillor Alex Chase, has revealed that the new mayor’s charity for the year ahead is the clothing brand and charity Brave and Determined Company, BADCo, which donates profits from their sales to provide people with access to essential counselling services. 

Cllr Chase was elected to the role of mayor following the annual meeting of Shaftesbury Town Council on May 12.

Speaking about BADCo, cllr Chase said: “BADCo is an incredible charity dedicated to funding counselling for those struggling with mental health challenges.  

“Their work not only helps those who can’t afford counselling otherwise, it helps to ease the stress on NHS services that are already overstretched.  

“Adam and Adam from BADCo have a great vision for their work and a plan for the future that is incredibly exciting and deserves our support.  

“We are looking forward to working with them over the next year to raise money and awareness for their fantastic work.”

Cllr Chase is considering a range of fundraising events, the proceeds of which will be gifted to BADCo.
