A PUB found on the Dorset and Wiltshire border is welcoming back guests in time for the festive season following a refurbishment.
The King John Inn at Tollard Royal has seen all eight of the guest rooms remodelled to reflect “an elegant modern country style”.
“Using the very best quality textiles and furnishings with everything needed for a luxurious night’s stay, each room has its own distinct style and personality – super comfy beds, glamorous styling, high-end bathrooms, home-baked treats and designer toiletries,” a spokesperson for the inn said.
The inn is owned and managed by Butcombe Pubs & Inns.
General manager Charlie April, who has more than 20 years of experience in high-level hospitality, has been at the helm since September and said he was drawn to the King John’s quintessentially English look and feel.
“The King John Inn is a classically English inn, surrounded by stunning countryside,” he said.
“I love the fact we’re at the heart of such a wonderful community where everyone knows and cares for each other.
“We always go the extra mile for our guests, taking care to delight and spoil them, and especially love celebrating with them and being part of special occasions and get-togethers.”
Heading up the kitchen team is head chef Wesley Bament.
“We have very discerning guests here at the King John Inn, who know their food and really appreciate what we do,” he said.
“I was classically trained, so I can really let my creativity run wild here with a range of fine dining and elevated classics always on the menu – using the most incredible local produce that we’re lucky to have on our doorstep.”
At the bar, guests can enjoy a wide range of Butcombe Brewing Co’s ever-popular beers, lager and cider, a beautifully curated wine list, premium spirits, and a selection of cocktails.
