Mum’s emotional appeal to find missing Alice Bendall as last sighting confirmed

MISSING Alice Bendall – also known as Alex – was last seen in Tesco Dorchester, police have said, as the teen’s mum made an emotional appeal for them to ‘come back home’.

The search for the 18-year-old is continuing in the Charminster and Dorchester areas after Alice was reported missing at around 3pm on Sunday (February 12).

Alice’s mum said: “Al, we love you with all our hearts, miss you and beg you to come back home – whatever might have happened.

“We just want to know that you are safe and well.

“If anyone out there has been with Al or knows anything at all, please, please contact Dorset Police.”

Following enquiries, police said they have now established Alice was last seen at around 7.30pm on Saturday at the Tesco in Weymouth Avenue, Dorchester.

Alice is described as five feet six inches tall, of slim build, with short brown hair and was last seen wearing a black jacket with a denim body and black fabric sleeves, dark coloured jeans, Dr Martens boots with a green lace in one boot and purple lace in the other, a bracelet over the cuff on the right arm and was carrying a small backpack.

Chief Inspector Andy Edwards, of Dorset Police, said: “Our extensive efforts to locate Alice are ongoing and we know that the last confirmed sighting was in Tesco, Dorchester on Saturday evening.

“Anyone who was in that area or between Dorchester and Charminster around the relevant time and has dashcam fitted, please check for any footage that might have captured Alice.

“I would also like to renew my appeal to Alice – if you are reading this, please contact us directly. You are not in any trouble, but we are very concerned for your safety and want to make sure you are all right.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Alice’s whereabouts should contact Dorset Police via www.dorset.police.uk/contact or by calling 101, quoting incident number 12:319.
