More cars keyed in Gillingham street as police investigate

CARS in a Gillingham street have been damaged by someone using a key, according to police.

Officers are investigating an incident of criminal damage to vehicles in Queen Street at around 11.40pm on Saturday (June 13).

It comes after other vehicles were damaged in the same street on May 9, as reported by your New Blackmore Vale.

Dorset Police community support investigator Lucy Wickham said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and are urging anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from any residents with relevant home CCTV or doorbell camera footage, as well as any motorists who may have dashcam footage that could assist our enquiries.

“We are also aware of a number of reports of vehicles being damaged in Queen Street on Saturday, May 9, and we believe these incidents may be linked.

“I am urging anyone with information about damage to vehicles in Queen Street on either date to please get in touch with police.”
