Men attacked outside Westfest rave event at Bath & West Showground

THREE men were attacked – with one suffering a fractured eardrum – at a Halloween event.

The incident occurred at Westfest, held at the Bath & West Showground, near Shepton Mallet, in the early hours of Sunday, October 29.

Avon and Somerset Police said at around 2.30am, there was a confrontation about a taxi on the edge of the site, which led to the assault.

“Two of the men were treated at hospital for facial injuries, including a fractured ear bone, but have both since been released home,” a spokesperson said.

“The area was busy at the time and officers are appealing for anyone with footage or information that may help their investigation to come forward.

“There were also several taxis in the area at the time and we would ask drivers to check for dashcam footage.”

Westfest Halloween was billed as the ‘Home of Rave’ and ran between 4pm and 2am on October 28 to 29.

Anyone who can help police find out more about the assault should contact police on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5223264161, or complete the Avon & Somerset Police online appeals form.
