Mayor unveils new panels detailing historic Dorchester sites

A SERIES of new information boards give visitors and residents an insight into the history of Dorchester locations.

Mayor of the county town, Cllr Alistair Chisholm, unveiled panels on the Millstream Path in Dorchester on Saturday (February 24).

The panels are part of the ongoing work by the Dorchester Joint Heritage Committee to present the rich and varied history of the town to visitors and residents alike.

The three Millstream panels focus on the heritage of Fordington from the Roman period through to the Victorian industries.

In the summer, a further information board will be installed near the old Mill in Fordington.
