A MAN is reported to have spat at a woman during a road rage incident in Shaftesbury.
Dorset Police said the incident unfolded at between 7pm and 7.20pm on September 18, when a male driver failed to give way to a female driver, in her 20s, as she made her way down the High Street.
A police spokesperson said she “was at the give way junction with Mustons Lane when a black Audi approached and reportedly failed to give way”.
“Both vehicles were stationary in the road for a moment before the Audi mounted the pavement in an attempt to get around the woman’s vehicle,” they went on.
“As the Audi drove past, the male driver reportedly challenged the woman and spat from his vehicle through the victim’s open window, striking her.”
PC Nathan Young, of North Dorset police, added: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I would urge any witnesses to please make contact with us.
“I would also urge any motorists with dashcam who were driving in the area around the relevant time, as well as residents or businesses with CCTV cameras, to please check their footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Dorset Police online or by calling 101, quoting reference 55260148198, or Crimestoppers anonymously online or on 0800 555 111.
