Man pushed or punched to the ground in Sturminster Newton park

A MAN was pushed or punched to the ground after an altercation in Sturminster Newton.

Police said the incident unfolded at around 10.25pm on Friday, May 10, in Railway Gardens.

A spokesperson said it was reported the man was pushed or punched to the ground, but diid not sustain any serious injuries, after a “verbal exchange with another man”.

PC Ed Lewis, of the Sturminster Newton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I understand there were a number of people in the area around the time the assault was reported.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or who has any information that might assist our investigation, to please contact us.”
