Man allegedly kissed woman at bus stop and abused passengers

A MAN allegedly kissed a woman as she waited for a bus – before being abusive to passengers on a journey between Poole and Blandford.

Dorset Police are appealing for anyone with information about the alleged incident, on Tuesday, August 15, to come forward.

Officers said it was reported that at around 3.50pm, a man approached a number of people who were waiting for a bus at Poole bus station, in Kingland Road, and kissed a woman on the cheek.

When on the X8 bus to Blandford, it was further reported that the man was being verbally abusive to other passengers, a spokesperson said.

Following enquiries, a 27-year-old man from Shaftesbury was arrested and charged with affray and sexual assault.

He was due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 17.

PC Erin Kinghorn said: “There would have been a number of other people in the area at the bus station, as well as travelling on the bus to Blandford.

“I am appealing to anyone with information, or who was affected by the incident, to please get in touch.”
