Man, 42, charged with attempted murder after Blandford incident

A 42-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with assault after an incident in Blandford.

The charge comes after an incident at an address in Eagle House Gardens at around 7pm on Tuesday (August 27).

“It is reported that the victims – a woman in her 40s and a boy – were strangled by a man before the woman managed to kick him away,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“The incident involved people who are known to each other.

“The victims attended hospital for treatment to their injuries and have since been discharged.”

Following enquiries, a 42-year-old man from Blandford Forum was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted murder and intentional strangulation, they added.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court today (August 29).
