A 33-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with an alleged robbery and attempted robberies near Dorchester.
The arrest comes after an incident at around 7.35pm on Friday, February 14, which saw a man driving a white Mercedes stop to assist two men near to the Woodsford level crossing on Lewell Road, near Crossways.
It appeared their vehicle – a silver Ford Focus – had either broken down or been involved in a collision.
Police said it is alleged the two men then removed the male driver of the Mercedes from his car and attempted to drive off in the vehicle, before colliding with a barrier at a level crossing.
“The two men then reportedly left the Mercedes, attempted to stop other passing vehicles and made threats to the occupants, but then left the scene on foot,” a Dorset Police spokesperson added.
“Following extensive enquiries, a 33-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, assault, making threats to kill and driving offences. He remains in police custody at this time.”
