Make ’shroom for these lovely funghi

Clarke’s Auctions March sale was held over two days with the Antiques & Collectables sale on the Saturday and the first of their 2021 Classic Vehicles and Automobilia sale held on the Sunday.

Both days saw fierce bidding across the board with a 1957 BSA A7 Gold Flash motorbike selling for £5,600, a 1958 Ariel Red Hunter selling for £4,500 and a vintage sign written grocer’s bike selling for £600.

century mahogany writing table sold for £380 and a 19th century Chinese Export camphorwood iron bound chest sold for £340.

Their next Classic Vehicle & Automobilia auction will be held on Sunday 13th of June and already consigned is a collection of motoring related volumes from a local deceased motoring journalist’s estate, with values ranging from 10s to 100s of pounds, including a signed copy of The Prince and I – Life with the motor racing Prince of Siam by Princess Birabongse, his wife. The Prince mentioned in the title is more commonly known as Prince Bira, the famous Brooklands racing driver.

Items for their Antiques & Collectables sale to be held on Saturday, 10 April are coming in thick and fast, with instruction to sell items from a large Dorset country house, deceased estates and solicitor’s referrals.
