Lots being sold for hospital appeal

Acreman St Antiques Auction, Sherborne, has had another busy month with the General Antiques & Collectors Auction on Friday 28 October featuring 842 lots, and the Specialist Textile, Fashion & Apparel Auction on October 21, predominantly a one-owner sale of mostly clothing through the eras.
Highlights were a 1920s flapper dress, hammer £340; 1940s silk wedding dresses, hammer £460; 1970s Saint Laurant dress, hammer £280; 1960s Jeff Banks dress, hammer £240; 1980s three-piece knitwear, hammer £210; 1960s Christian Dior dress, hammer £340; and an early crewelwork panel, hammer £700.
Acreman’s General Antiques & Collectors Auction has 250 lots of jewellery including 54 lots being sold on behalf of Yeovil Hospital New Breast Cancer Unit Appeal. Maggie Hague, who works tirelessly on the appeal’s behalf, campaigning and gathering jewellery donations, has won the BBC Radio Somerset Fundraiser Award 2022.

Acreman also has on offer a selection of watches including a lady’s bimetal Rolex wristwatch estimated at £1,800-£2,200, and a large selection of paintings and drawings including a framed pastel portrait of Lillie Langtry by Frank Miles estimated at £100-£200. Toys include a collection of Pelham puppets and a large antique handmade doll’s house estimated at £60-£100.
