Library bringing war memories of conscripts to life in exhibition

Shaftesbury Library is bringing the stories of those who were conscripted in the Second World War to life in a special exhibition entitled National Service Remembered.

Through interviews and photography, the exhibition hopes to capture and illuminate the experience of the men who served our country.

A spokesperson said: “The youngest to be conscripted is now aged 77 and, in years to come, their wealth of knowledge and recollections are in danger of being lost forever. Please help us by sharing your story to create a memorable exhibition.”

The exhibition, compiled of photographs, written narratives and video interviews, will be shown in various locations throughout Dorset as well as nationally and online.
