Gillingham care home hosts a mad hatters tea party

Fern Brook Lodge care home in Gillingham was delighted to host a special mad hatters themed tea party to raise much needed-funds and drive awareness of Lewis-Manning Hospice care, which provides care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness.

Residents and staff have certainly been getting into the summer spirit at the home with Chef, Darren and kitchen assistants, Alicia and Jackie preparing a wonderful buffet lunch. The tea party feast included a delicious array of sandwiches, carrot cake and Victoria sponge, as well as jelly and mousses and some scrumptious scones with jam and cream.

Last but not least was the large rabbit that was made of green jelly that everyone was delighted to see!

Fern Brook Lodge is a welcoming 75-bedroom home nestled in the north Dorset countryside and is one of Care South’s homes, a not-for-profit charity and leading provider of residential and home care across the South of England.
