£15,000 is needed to get the ball rolling on essential repairs at Shaftesbury Lido.
The lido’s pipework, filtration system and pool lining all need to be replaced at a total cost of £120,000.
The town council said these improvements will enhance water quality, efficiency, and sustainability, keeping the Lido running smoothly for years to come.
It said that due to funding already agreed by Dorset Council, Shaftesbury Town Council itself, which manages the pool, and other supporters, the majority of funding has been identified.

Just £30,000 is left to raise from the total – and £15,000 of that has been promised by Sports England but only if the community raises £15,000 first.
A fundraiser has now been launched – and almost £7,000 has been raised so far.
The pool – Dorset only lido – has been a popular community asset for more than 100 years.
“Thanks to you, our lovely Lido community, Shaftesbury Lido is a much-loved community space, providing a place for families, schools, and swimmers of all ages to enjoy the water,” the town council said.
“To keep it thriving for summer 2025 and beyond, we need to complete some essential upgrades – and we’re asking for your support.”
The deadline to raise money is Friday, March 14.
