Four ‘seriously injured’ in crash on A3030 near Sherborne

FOUR people were seriously injured in a crash in Sherborne.

The incident happened on the A3030 at Hawkins Hill, Caundle Marsh, at around 10.10am on Wednesday (April 5) and involved a silver Honda CR-V and a silver Mercedes C220.

The driver of the Honda – a woman in her 30s – and a passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

A second passenger did not sustain any serious injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The female driver of the Mercedes, in her 70s, and a female passenger in the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

PC Daniel Yates, of the Dorset Police traffic unit, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the incident and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who may have captured the collision, or the moments leading up to it, on dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place, which allowed us to safely deal with the incident.”
