Four seriously injured in crash near Blandford

FOUR people were seriously injured in a crash near Blandford.

The incident happened on Fair Mile Road, Bryanston, at around 4.35pm on Wednesday (April 19) and involved a silver Ford S-Max and a white Ford Transit van.

The driver of the van – a man in his 30s – was taken by air ambulance to hospital for treatment to life-changing injuries, Dorset Police said. The three occupants of the Ford car were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Road closures were in place to allow emergency services to safely deal with the incident and were lifted at around 8.30pm.

Police Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “An investigation is underway and I would ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or manner of driving of either vehicle in the moments leading up to it, to please get in touch.

“Also, I would ask motorists who were travelling in the area with a dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check for any footage to help my enquiries.”
