Fireworks Spectacular is going ahead!

AS bad weather forces some fireworks displays to cancel, an intrepid Vale group is determined to go ahead.

The 1st Woodcutts Scouts’ Sixpenny Handley Firework Spectacular is still going ahead on Saturday (November 4), organises said.

The event, at Church Farm campsite, is now in its 21st year and has grown to be among the largest displays in the area.

Scout Leader and event organiser, Rob Easton, said: “Safety will always be our number one priority. We are very lucky that the site for the display is free-draining and the rain and wind has not impacted us.

“There might be light rain showers on the night, but wrap up, wear your wellies and enjoy our fabulous display – we have plenty of hot food to keep you warm and our most spectacular firework display yet planned for the evening.”

Visitors can also enjoy fete games run by the Explorer Scouts, Omni glow sales, hot dogs and burgers supplied by Clarkes the local butchers, pumpkin soup, and a bar featuring locally brewed beers and Cranborne Chase Cider.

Tickets cost £5 for children, £6 for adults, with £20 family tickets also available on the gate or in advance from Budgens Sixpenny Handley, Clarkes the Butchers and Chettle Shop.

Gates open at 5.30pm, with a children’s display at 6.30pm and main display at 7.30pm.

Car parking is signposted entering Sixpenny Handley.
