Firefighters rescue man from car in flood water near Sherborne

A MAN had to be rescued from his car amid “fast flowing flood waters” on a Dorset road today (October 25).

Firefighters from Sherborne were sent to Boys Hill Drove near the town at just before noon, along with a crew from Yeovil with an inflatable boat.

“The caller had limited English so control utilised Language Line, so a third party joined the emergency call to interpret on behalf of the caller,” a Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.

“The crews rescued the male casualty from the flood water (and) further requested the attendance of Dorset Highways to close the road between A352 to Round Chimneys Farm.”
