SMOKE was seen billowing near a McDonald’s in Wincanton following an electrical substation fire.
Businesses experienced power cuts following the fire at the McDonald’s car park on Lawrence Hill on Friday (June 27) just after 2pm.
The fire service said power should be fully restored by 7pm later today.

How did it and did it spread
We were there this afternoon, we’d just ordered our McDonald’s when the power cut off, we waited a short while for our food not realising the fire was in the carpark, we made a dash to the car and drove past the box hoping it wouldn’t explode, very scary, we went to Morrisons to eat the food and saw all the thick black smoke. We’d been to Devon for a few days and we’re on our way home to Kent.
It looks very bad on the outside picture of the fire and it can be because of the hot weather in England and it just catch fire of the heat is too hot because he is cold most of the time
