Feast of festive events at the Museum of East Dorset

A JAM-PACKED schedule of events is promising a Christmas full of sparkle at the Museum of East Dorset.

On November 30, the fourth annual Christmas Shopping Night will be held at the historic museum building, in Wimborne, running from 5pm to 8pm.

“It’s the perfect start to the festive season with local food and drink samples to try, a complimentary mulled wine in the Victorian Kitchen, live music, and an indoor Makers Market,” a spokesperson said.

“Our shop is crammed full of gift ideas, and you can enjoy a festive treat in the Tea Room too.”

Tickets are available for £3 for the evening.

Meanwhile, people can also visit Santa at the museum.

Christmas crafts, a festive trail around the museum, stories read by Santa, and, of course, a wrapped present to take home are on offer for those taking part.

Tickets are £15 per child and are very limited, the spokesperson added.

Then, on December 14, the museum will host a festive evening of music and spoken word with Caroline Butler and Dave Townsend of The Mellstock Band.

Seasonal songs, carols and music from rural England will help bring festive cheer to the room.

Elsewhere, the May The Toys Be With You exhibition is running, featuring part of one of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters.

Star Wars trails, crafts, and dressing up will be on offer until April 2024.

All tickets are available online at www.museumofeastdorset.co.uk.

The museum and Tea Room will open throughout November and December, from 10am to 4pm.
