THREE aviaries were broken into near Shaftesbury at the weekend, with two peregrine falcons and eggs reported as missing.
The aviaries at a rural property in Shaftesbury were broken into sometime between 10pm on Sunday (April 13) and 7am on Monday (April 14).
Two peregrine falcons and a peregrine lanner falcon hybrid were either stolen or escaped following forced entry, police say, with at least three peregrine eggs stolen from an artificial nest.
Dorset Police said evidence suggests one of the birds sustained an injury to its wings.
