PUBS and shops across the Blackmore Vale have helped raise thousands of pounds for charitable causes this Easter.
27 businesses across the Vale purchased giant 1kg chocolate Easter eggs from the Blackmore Vale Lions Club, with the pubs and shops raffling off the eggs over Easter.
Money raised was handed back to the Lions Club, which will be used to support groups in need across the area.
The Lions say they are still collecting and counting the final amount raised, but their expectation is that the total will reach around £2,750.
The businesses involved include:
The Kutting Station, The Saxon, The Plough, Royal Oak, The Fiddleford Inn, The Swan (Sturminster), Joshua’s Café, White Horse, White Hart, The Crown Inn, Spire Hill Café, The Green Man, The Bull Inn (Now Closed) Halsey Arms, Geoff’s Hairdressers, British Legion (Stalbridge), Thyme after Time, The Swan (Stalbridge), Grace Haine, Virginia Ash, The Blackmore Vale Inn, Todber Fishing Lakes, Bird in Hand, Digby Tap, Stapleton Arms, The Kings Arms, The Ship.
