Dorset attraction becomes a movie set – with sheep as extras!

CAMERAS were rolling at a Dorset attraction recently as a film crew travelled back in time.

The Ancient Technology Centre (ATC), in Cranborne, became the set of a historical fantasy movie as the fictional village of Healmead in upcoming release, The Guard.

Volunteers – and sheep – even got roles in the film, as extras, during a weekend of shooting for the film, which will be released on YouTube some time next year.

“The whole site was used with even the sheep having a part,” a spokesperson said.

“It was a completely new and exciting experience for most of the ATC volunteers and they are all keen to have another go if the opportunity ever arises.”

The volunteers are now busy putting the site back in order ready for the first open weekend of the season, which runs this weekend, March 30 and 31.
