Dorset agent selling house down the road from Boy George

A DORSET estate agent has been tasked with selling a property in a prestigious London address – the first time the house has ever been sold.

The property, in NW3, was built around the 1860s by carpenter William Selly, who moved to the capital around that time and built a number of properties.

Among the 39 properties he amassed was a house in Well Walk, Hampstead, near the famous Hampstead Heath and at the heart of one of London’s most desirable locations.
Now, descendants of Selly have decided to sell the last property in his portfolio, as it needs complete refurbishment.

Currently split into two flats, the house is being marketed by Danehurst Estate Agents, based in Dorset.

“The lower ground floor provides access to the fully enclosed rear garden, while the front features a small basement courtyard with access door and steps to pavement level,” the listing said.

“The house is in desperate need of updating and complete refurbishment, as well as Section 11 and 12 improvement notices that require action.

“Nevertheless, it presents an excellent opportunity for investment and redevelopment in one of London’s most sought-after areas.”

Directors of Danehurst, Sarah Oliver and Stuart Warnock, said they were excited about the property.

“(It’s) an extraordinary opportunity to acquire a property in a sought-after location popular among celebrities due to its charm, history, and proximity to central London,” they added.

Currently living a few doors down in Well Road is Boy George, who has his property on the market for £17 million.

Due to the complexities associated with the sale, the vendors have chosen to sell the property through Danehurst, in partnership with SDL Auctions.

And the house will go under the hammer on April 27, with a guide price of £850,000.
